CAAM: agricultural UAS operations

The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia defines agricultural UAS operations as dispensing agricultural payloads for plant nourishment, soil treatment, propagation of plant life or pest control, and surveillance that directly affects agriculture, horticulture or forest preservation.

Civil Aviation Directive 6011 Part (II) applies to issuing the Unmanned Aerial Work Certificate (UAWC, called AWC in the directive) to private and commercial operators. The directive states that no person shall engage in agricultural UAS activities without a valid certificate from CAAM, and refers to notifying the nearest agricultural department or agency. CAAM accepts UAWC applications by email as described on its UAS page.

Remote pilot competency

CAAM Civil Aviation Circular 01/2025 sets the remote pilot certificate of competency (RCoC) for agricultural work: RCoC-B with Module 2 (AGR) for commercial operations, and RCoC-B with Module 2 or the RCoC-AL for private operations.

DOA: what a drone may carry

The Department of Agriculture lists permitted payloads as pesticides registered with the Pesticides Board that carry a recommendation for UAS use, fertiliser, plant growth enhancers and seeds.

This site does not state that the business holds a UAWC, RCoC or insurance. Those details are placeholders until verified and will be shown with any quote.
